The Global Day of Jewish Learning celebrates the completion of Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz’s audacious quest to translate the Talmud from the original Aramaic and ancient Hebrew into Modern Hebrew which began in 1965 when he was 27 years old. He will complete his 45 volume translation and commentary during a ceremony in Jerusalem on November 7, 2010. Jews in cities from across the globe will gather to study. We will gather in Northbrook at the BJE for study centered on Prayer with local Teachers and a computer link to Jerusalem with Rabbi Steinsaltz.
